This page is written for you and for your Claude. Give your Claude this link, or paste the line at the bottom. A plain-text version for agents is at api.forcefieldsilicon.com/llms.txt.

Who this is for

People who need atom-scale simulation and already have a Claude. Three groups come to us: process materials teams at fabs and their suppliers, drug discovery and delivery groups, and mineral processing and critical-metals refiners. If the question is molecular dynamics, it fits.

Add MDEngine to your Claude

Claude Code (Mac, Windows, Linux). One line, then sign in once:

claude mcp add --scope user --transport http mdengine-cloud https://api.forcefieldsilicon.com/mcp

Start claude, type /mcp, pick mdengine-cloud, choose Authenticate, and paste your key on the sign-in page. Never paste a key into the chat.

claude.ai and the Claude desktop app. Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. Name it mdengine-cloud and set the URL to https://api.forcefieldsilicon.com/mcp. Sign in with your key when asked. On a Team or Enterprise plan an admin has to allow custom connectors first.

Any other MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP uses the same URL. A script sends the key as Authorization: Bearer mde_....

The Mac download on the MDEngine page is a different thing: the local viewer, analysis tools and free CPU runs on your own machine. The hosted GPU tier above works from any operating system and needs nothing installed.

What your Claude can do before you buy anything

Four tools work without a key: guide returns the campaign playbooks and the OpenMM stability template, capabilities lists every style with its GPU flag, preflight_deck gives a yes or no on your deck before any spend, and campaign_request starts a study. Submitting a run needs a key.

Get a key

A key comes with a credit pack: Starter $25, Lab $100, Lab Group $500 ($550 of credit, with a business name and tax ID on the receipt). Buy on the MDEngine page; the key arrives with the receipt. You pay for the work a job does, not for a machine: 5 cents per job, plus a price per million timesteps and a price per billion atom-steps, both set by the pair style, and never more than the wall limit times $2 per GPU hour. A queued job holds its wall limit times the rate from your balance until it finishes, so a big grid runs in batches sized to your pack. Your Claude reads the balance and the rate table with the account tool.

What runs

LAMMPS (29 Aug 2024) with KOKKOS on NVIDIA GPUs (RTX 4090, RTX 6000 Ada, L40S). The full image carries 72 packages, among them REAXFF, MANYBODY, KSPACE, MEAM, ML-SNAP, ML-POD, ELECTRODE and FEP. OpenMM runs on CUDA as a beta. Your Claude calls capabilities to see every style with its GPU flag and preflight_deck to check a deck before any spend. A deck that needs a style the image lacks is refused before it costs anything.

Your data

Decks and trajectories travel over TLS, sit encrypted at rest, are deleted 30 days after the run or sooner with delete_results, and are never used for anything else. Each job runs in a network-isolated sandbox on a machine that exists only for the duration of your job. One person has operator access.

Guides your Claude can follow

The skills teach your Claude the workflows: write a deck, pick a potential, read the results, and run a study end to end. Claude Code:

claude plugin marketplace add forcefieldsilicon/mdengine-plugins
claude plugin install mdengine@forcefieldsilicon

claude.ai: Settings, Skills, Import from GitHub, enter forcefieldsilicon/mdengine-plugins. The repo is at github.com/forcefieldsilicon/mdengine-plugins. Two campaign guides, one for molten-salt studies in mineral processing and one for proteins without an experimental structure, are in the same repo.

When the question is bigger than one deck

We run fixed-scope studies: a campaign grid, numbers with a stated uncertainty, a compromises sheet on the front page, the IP assigned to you, and a quote before any run. Your Claude starts one with the campaign_request tool, which needs no key: it sends your question, what you already have, the grid in words, your data rules and a contact, and gets back a request id, the tier that fits, the price band or a scope call, and what we still need. A person replies within one business day. The fallback is arvand@gitinama.tech.

Tell your Claude

Paste this into your Claude and it takes it from there:

Add the MDEngine hosted MCP server at https://api.forcefieldsilicon.com/mcp, read https://forcefieldsilicon.com/mdengine/start/, then tell me what you can run for my study and what it would cost before you submit anything.
